Taylor Reed

Manteca High School

Taylor Reed is a senior at Manteca High School and is currently serving as ASB Secretary. She has been involved in Manteca’s leadership class since her freshman year; contributing to Manteca High as the freshman and sophomore class secretary and Junior class Vice President. Taylor has organized multiple events, implemented multiple new ideas for the benefit of students, and advocated for the highly respected Honor the Code program at MHS.

She has spearheaded an event that raised and donated funds to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Oncology Unit and took part in collecting gently used clothes to send to a special needs school that lost their community closet. Taylor puts her passion for helping others and leadership skills together to make difference on her campus and in the lives of her peers.

Thriving in the school atmosphere, Taylor partakes in clubs and academic programs on her campus. A few clubs are National Honors Society, golf club, and California Scholarship Federation. Aspiring to become a pediatric oncology nurse, she is a part of the school’s medical pathway. This program allows a select few students interested in medicine to explore science classes with an in-depth look at the medical aspect of the course.

Over her 4 years of high school, Taylor has taken on the rigorous curriculum in Advanced Placement and honors classes. She was awarded the honor of February Student of the Month in 2017 by the English Department  for her  dedicated and outstanding work with the written word in AP Language and Composition. Also, excelling in AP Chemistry, AP United States History, AP European History while maintaining a 4.5 GPA. Currently, she is taking AP Calculus, AP Government and Economics, and AP Literature.

Taylor has a passion for public speaking, which she uses to convey important messages within her school and community.  Recently, she was asked on behalf of Manteca and Sierra High Schools to give a speech honoring the first-responders of her community at a local event. She is ecstatic to be able to use her public speaking abilities to enhance the student-board relationship.
