Brooklyn Clair Johnson - EUHS

Brooklyn Clair Johnson

East Union High School

Brooklyn Johnson is a Junior at East Union High School and is currently serving as ASB Vice President for the 2018-2019 school year. She has been involved with her school’s student leadership program since freshman year and hopes to continue being involved all four years of high schools. In the past, she held the position of Freshman Class Secretary, then as Sophomore Class President and during her time in these positions, Brooklyn has been head of many projects ranging from making homecoming floats to planning fundraiser dinners to raise money for her class.

Brooklyn believes she has her family to thank when it comes to how she became involved in her school. All through elementary school, her parents would volunteer at every school event and encourage Brooklyn to do the same. Her siblings were both a part of East Union’s Leadership and Link Crew, which is how she heard about the amazing parts of student leadership.

Ever since Brooklyn joined her elementary school’s leadership program, she has developed a love for leadership. This love has remained with Brooklyn all through high school. In two years in the Leadership class, she has earned her letter in leadership and had the honor of receiving the 110% Award for her neverending dedication and effort she puts into everything she does.

This past Summer, Brooklyn had the amazing opportunity to attend Edge, and HOBY, two outstanding leadership camps. At these camps, Brooklyn learned what it truly means to be a leader and how to use her strengths as a leader to empower others. Brooklyn truly believes these camps are two of the best experiences of her life. She hopes to take what she learned and implement it in every aspect of her life.

Brooklyn is involved in a variety of clubs and activities at school. Along with Leadership, Brooklyn is a part of the school’s Link Crew program which creates a welcoming and informative environment for incoming freshmen. She is treasurer for the World Travelers Club and is raising money for their Summer 2019 Greece and Italy trip. This will also be Brooklyn’s first year in one of the school’s dance clubs who performs at various rallies and events. Recently, Brooklyn received the responsibility of being one of the people in charge of the school’s cheering section, the Red Sea, who will cheer on the East Union Football and Basketball teams.

This year, Brooklyn is very excited to hold the position of a student board member. Not only does she believe it will benefit her school but also the whole community. She believes she is lucky to be working with such great people through her journey as a first-year board member and hopes to make a difference during the 2018-19 school year.
