For Students New to the District

If you are new to MUSD, you need your Digital Driver's License! Read more about that process here!

For All Students

Our partners for student online safety, Common Sense Media, designed their research-based plans to follow a scope and sequence. We follow their scope and sequence to give us the most long-term benefit without causing undue additional curricular strain on instructional time.

We ask designated teachers to teach 1 lesson per trimester in grades K-8, and 2 lessons first semester and 1 lesson second semester for grades 9-12.

For the individual teacher to evaluate what students have learned, we ask all teachers to conclude their Digital Citizenship experience for their class this year with the online assessment as outlined and linked below.

This may be completed as a whole class exercise.

Links are provided below to the Common Sense Media website where lesson plan PDF files are available in multiple languages using the download box pictured.

If you prefer, English PDF files for both the lesson plan—and student handouts—are located in the documents box on the right.

Both sources list which Common Core Standards are being addressed in these lessons.
