Neil Hafley Elementary School Modernization Project
Schematic Design ‐ Board Review
During the August 21, 2018 Board Study Session, members of the Core Planning Group for the Neil Hafley Elementary School Modernization project presented the proposed schematic design for the project. The Architect, Timothy Huff of TPH Architects, reviewed the design as developed.
The project’s overall scope focused on a modernization of the existing school and the improvements previously identified in the District’s 2014 Facility Master Plan and prioritized as health and safety, deferred/major maintenance, modernization and upgrades, and code compliance issues.
The project’s design team has identified within the project’s scope of work specific improvements to address the following items corresponding to the Master Facility Plan Priorities:
- Full replacement of the existing asphalt play-court.
- Fire alarm and paging System improvements
- Dry-rot repairs, roofing repairs, and painting of the existing school buildings.
- Carpet / Flooring replacement throughout the campus, including a multi-purpose room
- Restroom improvements
- Play structure replacements
Once the Board approves the Schematic Design for the project, the Architect will begin the Design Development Phase. This phase includes the detailed design work for the project. The project is scheduled for DSA submission in December of 2018 with construction scheduled to begin in Summer of 2019.
