Manteca High School JROTC

Junior Reserve Officer Training Course (JROTC) looks just like a regular high school course with students taking the class one period a day during school hours. The Army provides uniforms for all participants that usually are worn one time a week and on special occasions. When JROTC students reach goals they have set, their accomplishments are recognized with promotions, ribbons for their uniforms and appointments to drill teams and color guards. The curriculum offered in JROTC includes:

JROTC is not a recruitment program. Although the program uses a military training framework, JROTC does not teach military tactics. JROTC student's only obligation is to their own personal growth.

The Manteca Unified School District will grant Physical Education credit for JROTC.

The mission statement for the JROTC program is "To motivate young people to become better citizens."
