Saturday School

The next Saturday School will be held on September 22 from 8-12.  Doors will be locked at 8:00am - no exceptions!  Please bring homework or something to read.  THIS IS A 2-FOR-1!!!

The Pack Shack

The Pack Shack is open during lunch (Closed on Wednesdays)!  Located in the Cafeteria, we are selling snacks, drinks, school supplies, and merchandise. Cash only.  We are also at Home Football Games.     

Parking Permits

Attention students: All drivers must have a current parking permit visible in vehicles on campus at all times. If you do not have a parking permit, please get one today!

Lost & Found

If you have lost something please check the lost and found in the attendance office, the rack in the cafeteria, or in the library. There are many unclaimed items in all areas!

New System

Students:  We are working with a new POS system this year at brunch and lunch. PLEASE only enter your lunch number once. It takes us more of YOUR time to go through numbers that have been entered more than once.

Clubs & Activities  

FCCLA

Our next FCCLA Chapter Meeting is on Thursday, September 20. Activity will follow the meeting. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Lee in room 54.

Sign Language Club

Sign Language club meets Thursdays at lunch in Room 70. It is never too late to join! Come on by and learn how to sign!

Community Service & Fundraisers

Community Service Hours - Math Tutoring

Want to earn community service hours? Math tutors are needed to help with after school tutoring for our middle schools:  Stella Brockman, Veritas, Brock Elliott and Nile Garden. If interested, please see Mrs. Brandi in Room 8 or Mrs. Trzcinski in Room 46.

HYLC

Do you love ice cream? Well then you are in luck! Hispanic Youth Leadership Council club (HYLC ) is selling ice cream on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school at 3pm in room 21. We have cookies n crème, mango chamoy, strawberry, and many more yummy flavors. The cost is only $1.

Service Academy Information Night

Each year Congressman Denham accepts applications from students desiring a nomination to the various service academies: U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.  Congressman Denham will hold a Service Academy Information Night for California’s 10th District on Thursday, September 20 at Gregori High School, from 6-7pm.  Students, grades 8 through 12, and their parents are encouraged to attend for an opportunity to have their questions answered firsthand. "College Admissions" Parent Night

Attention All 11th & 12th Grade Parents and Students:  Are you interested in learning about how to prepare your student for college? Would you like to know more about college admissions, expectations and roles as they relate to the prospective UC, CSU and Community College systems? Please join us Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00pm in the Cafeteria. An admissions representative from UC-Merced, CSU-Stanislaus and San Joaquin Delta College will be here to present information on all of these topics and more. We look forward to seeing you there!

"Financial Aid" Parent Night

Attention All 12th Grade Parents and Students:  Are you interested in learning about Financial Aid options for college? Would you like to know more about the Financial Aid process? Please join us Monday, October 1 at 7:00pm in the Cafeteria. A representative from CSU Stanislaus will be here to review the Financial Aid process and present important information in regard to submitting your application. We look forward to seeing you there!

PSAT

The PSAT will be given at Sierra on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:30am. Cost is $20. All juniors planning on going to a 4-year college should take the PSAT. Registration is now open at https://user.totalregistration.net/PSAT/51903 Only 125 tests are available.  35 students have already signed up.  Deadline to sign up is Saturday, October 13.  See Mr. Bennett in the counseling office if you have questions.

PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS – Deadline 11/6

Are you a student who is making a difference through volunteering?  Applications are now open for 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, honoring students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions through community service.  Qualified applications can become eligible to win $1,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C., in late April.  Application and details available at https://spirit.prudential.com.

ASVAB

The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. The ASVAB will be Wednesday, November 7 in the SHS cafeteria. Sign up NOW in the counseling office.

Attention students! Sierra High School needs everyone to create their account on Parchment so you can see your unofficial transcript 24/7. Those of you who do not yet have an account were emailed by our registrar Paula Gulbronson and Parchment on Monday, September 10. Please click on the link within that email to create your account today!

Job Opportunity - Tutoring

California State University-Stanislaus will be on campus on Friday, September 21 at 9:45am in the Library. An Admissions Counselor will be available to present information on College Admissions, Campus Offerings and More. UC Merced & UC Application Workshop

Attention Seniors:  UC Merced will be on campus on Wednesday, September 26 at 9:00am in the Library. An Admissions Advisor will be available to present campus specific information and conduct a general UC Application Workshop for students who are interested in applying to any of the UC campuses. Herff Jones Grad Fair

Attention Seniors: Carlos, our Herff Jones Representative, will hold a Grad Fair on Wednesday, October 3 beginning at 5:00 in the school cafeteria. This will be a time where you and your parents can order your cap and gown and announcements and even a class ring if you want one. He will also be here on September 25 during the Senior Group Picture Day to hand out order forms and informational flyers and tell you more about the Grad Fair.

CSU Application Workshop

An Admissions Counselor from CSU-Stanislaus will be on campus to conduct an Application Workshop on Wednesday, October 31 at 10:30am in the Library. This workshop is designed to help students in applying to any California State College through Cal State Apply. MJC Enrollment Workshop

Attention Seniors:  Modesto Junior College will be on campus on the following dates to complete the Core Steps below needed to complete the enrollment process. Prospective students must complete all of these steps in order to be eligible for Priority Registration.
