Lobo Gold Rally - Fall 2009

Last Friday's lobo gold rally did an excellent job rewarding our students on their academic achievement. For the first time since 2001, it was held in the large gym instead of the stadium. The rally feature excellent performances by BSU and API clubs. Additionally, in a hilarious skit, Hatim Hanif and Jon Walkup portrayed Harry Potter and Chris Angel. Tim Cornish and Jose Avila also added another memorable skit when they lampooned Edward and Bella from the hit movie twilight. 106 students had a 4.0 GPA with no U's and no F's to receive lobo gold status. 303 students had a 3.25 GPA with no F's and no U's to achieve lobo silver status. 318 students maintained a 2.25 GPA with no U's to obtain lobo blue. Lobo gold and lobo silver students additionally receive the right to waive one final the end the term. Countless lobo students receive gift cards generously donated by local businesses, teachers, and parents.

Class of 2010 - Order your cap and gown and class ring Tue. Feb 9th on campus during lunch in the quad. This is your last chance to order on campus.

Class of 2011 - Order your class ring this Tue. Feb. 9th during lunch in the quad. An $80 deposit is all that is required to order your ring. You have until your graduation next year to pay it off. Order now and wear your ring your entire senior year.

Where else can you find queens who commit robbery and cleaning ladies dressing up like royalty?

See a tenacious reporter and mystical shop owner battle it out over customer fraud.

Hear what teenagers are REALLY thinking during a conversation.

You can see all this and more Tues. thru Fri. this week in our theater triple play of: The Crown Jewels, Voice and Counter voice, and The Curio Shop.

All performances are at 6:30pm in the Theater and are absolutely free!

So come see Sierra High Students rock the house.

SEE COUNSELING FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS AND INFORMATION

The UC Davis chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is offering several scholarships between $100 and $500 for incoming freshmen males to UC Davis for the 2010 fall quarter. If you plan on attending UC Davis next year, get the application in the Counseling Office.

Civil Service Insurance Co. $500-$1000 scholarship for seniors whose parents are full time public employees (peace officers, post office, teachers, military, etc). Must have have 3.0+ GPA and going to college/trade school in the fall. Must complete a short essay on how teenage accident rate can be reduced.

Student Insights Scholarship Contest - Open to any senior going to any college next fall. Complete 15-20 minutes survey on-line at www.student-view.com.

Haute Couture Society Fashion Scholarship Competition: $800 scholarship for fashion design, visual merchandising and fashion illistration or related field. Must submit a portfolio.

National Defense Transportation Association: Several scholarships available.

Jeff Gonsalez Memorial Scholarship: Senior planning to attend 2 or 4 year college and be involved in school and or community activities.

CSEA: Two scholarships available for dependents of an active CSEA member planning to attend college. $200 Manteca Chapter, $1000 CSEA scholarship.

Harold Hughes: Graduating dependent child of a current MUSD employee attending a 2 or 4 year college. Go to www.mantecausd.net then Staff Resources for application.

Balanced Man Scholarship: Senior males accepted to UC Davis. Information posted in the Counseling Center or visit www.sigep.org.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund/AT&T Foundation Scholarship - Senior of hispanic heritage and dependent of an AT&T employee. Must plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college and have a 3.0 + GPA. Deadline is February 16th.
