Miscellaneous

Saturday School
Saturday School will be held on Saturday April 10th at 8am in the Library. SHS dress codes are still in effect. Bring homework or something to read.


Herff Jones
ATTENTION!
 
Due to illness the Herff Jones Rep will not be on campus today but will be here on Tue. Mar. 23rd instead.


Parking Lot
Students, you are not allowed in the parking lot unless you are leaving campus for lunch or ROP. You must have the correct pass to do so. Your cars are not to be used as lockers.

ASB and Class Elections for 2010-2011
There will be an information meeting on Wed. Mar. 24th in room 51 during first and second lunch. This meeting will include packets that will provide the information needed to be involved in the elections.

Cheerleading
For those who are trying out for Cheerleading or are currently cheerleaders you must get an eligibility clearance through Vita Towner. Her office is located in the back of Attendance. See her before school, after school and during lunch periods only starting Mon. Mar. 22nd.

Seniors, parents must be a disabled veteran to qualify for a tuition-free waiver program. Applications available in the Counseling Center.

Scholarship Due Dates: Seniors, check your scholarship applications for upcoming due dates. If you need recommendations or transcripts, you will need to obtain them before spring break.
 
Scholarship Due: 3/24 Christa McAuliffe, 3/27 Haute Couture, 3/30 Manteca Garden Club, 3/31 CSEA, Asian Pacific Fund, Caltrans, 4/1 John Cambra, Robert E. Green Memorial, 4/2 national Defense Transportation, Soroptimist, S.J. Human Resource, 4/5 Civil Service Essay Contest for Children of Public Employees.
 
AB-540 Delta College Scholarship: Graduating Senior attending Delta College with a 2.5+ GPA. Must write an 800 word essay. Application available on-line or in the Counseling Center.
 
Association of Filipino Americans in Education: Senior of Filipino descent with 3.5+ GPA and plans to attend college/university. Deadline to apply is April 17.
 
$1000 Give Every Child A Chance Scholarship: Seniors who are volunteers (active within the past 4 years of high school). Must have contributed at least 100 hours of community service within hight school years. Deadline is May 1.
 
$2000 Ernest J Pombo Memorial Scholarship: Senior planning to attend college/university. Deadline is April 7.
 
M.R.P.S. Scholarship: Must be MRPS members for at least 3 years and in good standing or parent/guardian must be paid up members for at least 3 years. Deadline is April 30.
 
Christa McAuliffe: $800 scholarship available for a senior; parent/guardian is a teacher and San Joaquin County Coordinating Council/CTA member. Deadline is Mar. 24th.
 
Scholarship available for seniors majoring in Human Resources, Business Administration, Mangement, Psychology and Education.  Must have a 3.3+ GPA.  Deadline is April 2.
 
$900 scholarship: Graduating senior involved in community service and student activities.  Deadline to apply for the Robert E. Green Memorial scholarship is April 1.
 
Attention Senior Girls: If you are completing a Soroptimist Scholarship application, please note that it must be turned in to Mrs. B before Mar. 24.
 
Haute Couture Society Fashion Scholarship Competition: $800 scholarship for fashion design, visual merchandising and fashion illustration or related field. Must submit a portfolio.
 
National Defense Transportation Association: Several scholarships available.
 
Los Hermanos de Stanford Scholarship: $800 for outstanding latino student planning to attend 2-4 year college/university. Deadline is April 9.

Student vs Facility B-Ball Game
The game will be on Tue. Mar. 23rd. Sign ups in room 51.
