Sierra High School Student Bulletin
Message

The Vision - The vision of SHS is to empower students to acquire positive academic, social and emotional skills in order to allow them to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.
 
The Pledge of Allegiance - I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all.


Miscellaneous

Saturday School
Saturday School will be held on Saturday March 13th at 8am in the Library. SHS dress codes are still in effect. Bring homework or something to read.


Herff Jones
Juniors & Seniors -
The Herff Jones Rep. will be on campus Tue. Mar. 16th during both lunches. They will be taking ring orders for Juniors and cap and gown orders for Seniors.
Seniors make sure you get your cap and gowns ordered, graduation is 3 months away!


English Honor Cord
Applications are available in room 5. The due date for all honor cords is April 15th.

Academic Block & LAMP Applications
Available in the Counseling Center and must be turned in by March 19th.  Must have a 3.6 GPA for three or more terms to earn Block S.

Yearbook Applications
Applications for next year's yearbook class are now available in Room 1.

Finals
Fri. Mar. 12th we will be on finals schedule.

Clubs

FFA/FHA Drive Thru BBQ
If you or your family bought tickets, don't forget to come and pick up your dinners on March 17th! You can pick them up in the parking lot located directly behind the AG shop. We will be serving between 4pm and 7pm.  Make sure to have your tickets ready!

Seniors

College, University or Vocational School
Seniors: If you have been accepted to a college, university or vocational school or are the recipient of a monetary scholarship from an organization or college, please bring the letter to the Counseling Center.

Scholarships
SEE COUNSELING FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS AND INFORMATION
 
Scholarship available for seniors majoring in Human Resources, Business Administration, Mangement, Psychology and Education.  Must have a 3.3+ GPA.  Deadline is April 2.
 
$900 scholarship: Graduating senior involved in community service and student activities.  Deadline to apply for the Robert E. Green Memorial scholarship is April 1.
 
Friedberger Scholarship: Seniors with an EFC of around $1000, 3.0 GPA and community service, submit a resume to Mrs. Bogdanovich ASAP.
 
Attention Senior Girls: If you are completing a Soroptimist Scholarship application, please note that it must be turned in to Mrs. B before Mar. 24.
 
Haute Couture Society Fashion Scholarship Competition: $800 scholarship for fashion design, visual merchandising and fashion illustration or related field. Must submit a portfolio.
 
National Defense Transportation Association: Several scholarships available.
 
Agriculture/Mechanics Scholarship: Senior enrolling in courses pertaining to agriculture or mechanics, must have 2.5+ GPA. Deadline to apply is Apr. 1st.
 
Manteca Garden Club: $1000 scholarship for senior with at least a 3.0 GPA and plans to attend college. Must have some community service. Deadline Mar. 30th.
 
Stockton Teacher's Association: Senior; parent is a teacher for Stockton Unified School District. Due Mar. 13th.
 
Alpha Phi: Seniors who have dealt with people from diverse backgrounds. Due to Mrs. B by Mar. 14th.
 
Stockton Firefighter Scholarship: Senior; parent is a current or retired Stockton Firefighter.
 
Los Hermanos de Stanford Scholarship: $800 for outstanding latino student planning to attend 2-4 year college/university. Deadline is April 9.
