During meal periods when students remove masks to eat, students are physically distanced to the greatest extent practicable, especially when indoors. Schools may consider utilizing additional spaces outside of the cafeteria for mealtime seating including eating outdoors when feasible.
Frequently touched surfaces that come in contact with food will be washed, rinsed, and sanitized before and after meals. Per the CDPH, given the very low risk of transmission from surfaces and shared objects, there is no need to limit food service to single use items and packaged meals.
Breakfast is served in the classroom.
Lunch is served in the cafeteria unless the principal selects an alternative location for eating.
