Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK)
We are excited to announce that beginning in the 2022/23 school year, Manteca Unified will offer Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) programming!
UTK is an optional, state-funded program which provides more early education opportunities for younger children. UTK is based around early development with an emphasis on play and social emotional growth. This program is not designed to teach Kindergarten curriculum a year early.
UTK Program Highlights
- Free, full-day learning opportunities
- Transportation to and from the host site (if in transportation-eligible boundary area per Board Policy 3540)
- A lower staff-to-student ratio
- Curriculum aligned with instruction up to 3rd grade
If your child will turn 5 between September 2, 2022 – February 2, 2023, and your child lives in the boundary area of one of the schools listed below, they are eligible for Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK).
UTK Host Sites for 2022/23:
- French Camp
- George Komure
- Golden West
Please Note: If your child does not live in the boundary area of a UTK host site, they are not eligible for UTK for the 2022/23 school year. Instead, visit our "Register for Traditional TK" webpage.
