Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Information

The Student & School Benefits Survey helps ensure your child receives the benefits they need, and your child’s school receives specific funding to meet the needs of their student population. This form may also qualify your family for additional benefits!
We ask that you complete this particular survey if your child attends a CEP school site within Manteca Unified. CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) is a meal service option for local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools in high-need areas. CEP allows participating LEAs and schools to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students.
Please review the list of CEP schools in Manteca Unified for the 2022-2023 school year. If your child attends one of these schools, we ask that you complete the "Student & School Benefits Survey".

What is the Student & School Benefits Form?
The Student & School Benefits Survey is a household income survey used to help allocate state funds via the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), Title 1, and At-Risk programs at CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) school sites. The survey helps ensure your child receives the benefits they need, and your child’s school gets the specific funding it needs.

What benefits could my child/family receive by completing the Survey?
This form may qualify your family for waived or reduced costs for college applications, school testing, PG&E, Comcast, and more. For more information about these benefits, please contact MUSD’s Nutrition Education department at (209) 858-0778 after submitting your survey.

What is the Community Eligibility Provision?
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a federal meal provision established to increase access to the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program under The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act. CEP sites are considered schools with high poverty levels. If your school site gave you this form, your family attends a CEP school site.

How do I submit my Student & School Benefits Survey?
The survey can only be completed online. Scan the QR code to the right to take the survey. It can also be found in the “School Links” section of Q Parent Connection.

Will my child receive free/reduced cost meals this year?
Yes! All students will receive free, no cost meals starting on the first day of school (August 4, 2022).

How do I get my child(s) lunch number?
Starting this year, your child will use their Student ID number to get their lunch. This number can be found in Q Parent Connection or you contact your school office

Does this count against me under the new Public Charge Rule?
No, it does not. Meal benefits are not considered public benefits under the public charge inadmissibility determination.

How can I learn what is a part of my child’s daily nutrition menu?
Menus are planned according to the USDA’s nutrition guidelines and include fresh fruits and vegetables. At the high school level, students may be able to purchase additional items. Visit www.musdnutrition.net to view daily school menus and review nutrition facts of offered foods.
