MUSD COVID-19 Dashboard

  • The COVID-19 Dashboard reflects staff and student positive cases throughout Manteca Unified School District. As identified close contacts* are notified personally, this dashboard serves to maintain transparency within our school communities and will report statistics from the previous Friday to Thursday.

All positive COVID-19 cases are reported to the local health agency, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, by MUSD's Workplace Illness Prevention (WIP) nurses as established in CA Code of Regulations, Section 2500. School outbreaks are determined by San Joaquin County's local health agency (SJCPHS) or state health department, as stated in state legislature Assembly Bill 86.

Once the District learns of an individual who has tested positive at a school site or office, these steps will be followed:

    • Isolate the positive individual if present and advise of required self-quarantine
    • Contact trace within MUSD to determine close contacts*
    • Identified close contacts will be immediately notified by MUSD and advised of required quarantine
    • Follow any additional recommendations from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services

*Close Contact is defined as any individual within 6 feet of a confirmed case of COVID-19 while indoors for at least 15 minutes over a 24 hour period.

  • Total Number of Students and Staff is inclusive of independent study students and represents current enrollment.

As directed by public health, the details related to the school or individual involved in school-based transmission cases are not permitted to be shared with the public in order to protect all individuals’ privacy. For that reason, the district will continue to monitor the number of school-based transmissions and report as a total number.

The dashboard is updated following official confirmation from public health in the event of a suspected outbreak. This could result in a delay of cases appearing on this dashboard or in a discrepancy between the number of notifications received and the actual number of confirmed incidents (e.g. when the case is not yet confirmed positive by public health).

Considerations of Partial or Total Closure

  • If a partial, total school closure, or District closure is warranted, families will be contacted via email and/or phone and a swift transition to Phase 1: Off-Campus Learning will occur for the school(s) affected. The email and/or phone call will disclose as much information as possible relating to the events. MUSD will maintain confidentiality as required under HIPAA and FERPA and state law related to privacy of educational records.
