Agriculture Leadership
Offered to grades 9-12. Allows students the opportunity to learn public speaking skills, develop leadership skills, implement FFA activities, explore various career development events, and plan and organize agriculture awareness for elementary students.

Sustainable Agriculture Biology
Offered to grades 9-12. This is a 1 year laboratory science course designed for the college-bound student with career interests in agriculture.

Art & History of Floriculture
Offered to grades 10-12. This course is designed to develop an interest and awareness in Floriculture and related industries. Class activities will include: corsage and floral design construction, plant identification, principles of design, history, wedding and funeral arrangements, seasonal and holiday arrangement, introduction to greenhouse skills, recordkeeping, and farm accounting.

Agricultural Equipment Construction
Offered to grades 10-12. Open to students who want to pursue advanced work in construction and/or renovation of farm-related projects. All students will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

Basic Ag Mechanics
Offered to ages 9-12. Basic skills of ag mechanics will be stressed. This class is an intro for futher development of mechanical abilities related to agriculture. All Students will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

Ag Welding I
Offered to grades 10-12. Fulfills 5 credits towards third year math graduation requirement if taken in junior or senior year. Emphasis of this class will be on safety, hand tools, gas and arc welding, sheet metal, fabrication, machine operations, recordkeeping, and farm accounting. All students will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

Ag Welding II
Offered to grades 10-12. 5 credits towards third year math graduation requirement if taken junior or senior year. This class is a continuation of Ag Welding I. All students will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

Animal Science
Offered to grades 9-12. Articulated with MJC. This course focuses on all things livestock. Frequent opportunities given to develop and apply hands on learning on the MUSD school farm. Students will maintain an FFA Record book, and will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

AG Earth & Environmental Science
This class is offered to grades 9-12. It fulfills Physical Science graduation requirement. Students are expected to fuction in both lab and lecture situations. Class consists of reading, writing, lab reports, and group research projects. All students will be members of State and National FFA organizations.

Introduction to Makerspace
Offered to grades 9-12. This class brings elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) into one place. Activities will include design, exploration, problem solving, teamwork, and more.

Wood I
Offered to grades 9-12. Intro to hand tools, wood indentification, bill of material, how to figure costs, and more. Good safety habits learned as well.

Wood II
Offered to grades 11-12. Review of Wood I fundamentals, advanced learning of equipment and machines. Successful completion of both a furniture project and a cabinet project as selected by the instructor is required.

Wood III
Offered to grades 11-12. Continuation of the advanced study of wood construction allowing the student to select a concentration in furniture making or cabinet making.

Metal Fabrication
Offered to grades 11-12. Students will develop advanced skills in all areas of metalworking-good safety habits will be emphasized.

Metal I
Offered to grades 9-12. Basic course employing skills in metalworking and related study in textbook and shop math. Basic shop drawings for personal projects are required.

Metal II
Offered to grades 10-12. Course is a continuation of Metal I. 5 credits toward third year of math graduation requirement if taken during junior or senior year.

Drafting I
Offered to grades 9-12. 5 credits toward third year math if taken in junior or senior year. Study of the language of the industry.

Drafting II
Offered to grades 10-12. This course includes the study of fasteners, detail and assembly drawing, welding drawing, cams, gears, and revolutions drawings.

Advanced Drafting
Offered to grades 11-12. The student will select from mechanical, architectural, or an area related to drafting for advanced study.

Agriculture/Industrial Technology Honor Cords (Burgundy) Requirements:
- 4 semesters of "A" work* without a "U"
- 2 IT/Ag teacher recommendations
*no grade lower than a "B"; at least one semester shall be an advanced course.
