Meet Our Principal
Mr. Eric Simoni
A product of MUSD, Mr. Simoni graduated from East Union High School and was inspired by his family and high school mentors to pursue a teaching career. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westmont College, a teaching credential from the University of the Pacific, and a master’s degree from the University of La Verne. Mr. Simoni began his professional career at his alma mater East Union, where he made a lasting impact for nineteen years. Initially hired as a Social Science teacher, Mr. Simoni served the school community in multiple capacities including roles as EUHS Social Science department chair, School Site Council member, Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach, Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach, Athletic Director, and Vice Principal.
Mr. Simoni rejoins East Union following a six-year tenure as principal of Escalon High School. He continues to live in the city of Manteca with his family – His wife Carey, a high school principal, and children Kirk and Corley, both MUSD students, are looking forward to this exciting next chapter. As Mr. Simoni begins his new role, he would like EUHS students, staff, and families to know that he is truly grateful to serve as principal of his alma mater, a rare opportunity he intends to honor with full commitment and energy. He understands there will be unique opportunities that lie ahead, and he looks forward to establishing relationships and appropriately utilizing resources to ensure student success.
“To return and serve at East Union High School, the place that molded me, inspired me, and connected me to my career is an absolute honor. Not only does this opportunity give me a chance to give back to my home community, but it allows me to do so while being closer to my family, and I look forward to connecting with old friends and forging new relationships with team members at EUHS. My role and purpose will be simple and to the point: By establishing well-grounded and firm relationships with students, staff, and the community, we will strive to provide an educational experience that connects students to life after high school. We will work together to facilitate ongoing learning opportunities and activities for students that not only prepare them for college, but also provide hands-on learning experiences that are industry specific.” – Mr. Eric Simoni
