At Manteca Unified, smart budgeting practices start with one question: What do our students need to achieve?

This student-first mindset drives every decision. From school sites to district departments, our staff analyzes student data to identify supports and align resources to help students reach the next level.

Walter Woodward Elementary students and staff wore pink on February 26 to promote kindness, inclusion, and bullying prevention during Pink Shirt Day. Fifth grader Skylee Valiante helped bring the initiative to campus after researching the movement and presenting a proposal to school leadership. The day included social-emotional learning activities that encouraged students to be “Upstanders” and spread kindness across campus.

In honor of National School Counseling Week, we asked our School Counselor of the Year, Lisa Wilson, some questions to gain insight into the role counselors play in student achievement across MUSD.

Lathrop High School students are gaining real-world career exposure through the City Speaker Series, a collaborative program between the school and the City of Lathrop aligned with Manteca Unified School District’s Career Technical Education initiatives. Now in its third year, the program connects students with city professionals through monthly guest speakers and hands-on field trips, helping them explore career pathways, build professional skills, and connect classroom learning to future opportunities.
