Building Readers & Lifelong Learners

The foundation of learning begins with early literacy! Our purpose is to ensure every student meets grade-level standards, and it all starts with reading. Our early literacy initiative supports Transitional Kindergarten through third-grade students by teaching them how to read and equipping them with the tools to decode (break down) words, empowering them to read any word with confidence. Feeding Student Success from Scratch

At Manteca Unified, Nutrition Education is about more than serving meals; it’s about supporting student achievement. Through scratch cooking, locally sourced ingredients, and carefully planned menus, our Nutrition Education team helps students arrive ready to learn. Healthy meals not only fuel students but also improve focus, behavior, and attendance, empowering them to reach their full potential. Because when every child has access to nutritious, delicious meals, they’re ready to learn!

Refining Special Education Services Through Collaboration

Special Education is a service, not a place — and every student deserves to learn, grow, and belong in their school community. Manteca Unified is reshaping how, when, and where students with disabilities are supported alongside their peers. To support this shift, the Special Education Department and Lathrop High School co-led a districtwide professional development event for high school teachers, spotlighting Lathrop’s successful co-teaching and collaborative class model.
