The foundation of learning begins with early literacy! Our purpose is to ensure every student meets grade-level standards, and it all starts with reading. Our early literacy initiative supports Transitional Kindergarten through third-grade students by teaching them how to read and equipping them with the tools to decode (break down) words, empowering them to read any word with confidence. Stay tuned to see the strategies our District is using to keep young learners reading and ready to achieve grade-level standards. 

At Manteca Unified, Nutrition Education is about more than serving meals; it’s about supporting student achievement. Through scratch cooking, locally sourced ingredients, and carefully planned menus, our Nutrition Education team helps students arrive ready to learn. Healthy meals not only fuel students but also improve focus, behavior, and attendance, empowering them to reach their full potential. Because when every child has access to nutritious, delicious meals, they’re ready to learn!

Special Education is a service, not a place — and every student deserves to learn, grow, and belong in their school community. Manteca Unified is reshaping how, when, and where students with disabilities are supported alongside their peers. To support this shift, the Special Education Department and Lathrop High School co-led a districtwide professional development event for high school teachers, spotlighting Lathrop’s successful co-teaching and collaborative class model.

Lathrop High School has been recognized as a National Model School for its commitment to innovative teaching practices, collaborative leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for student and community engagement. This recognition underscores MUSD’s ongoing efforts to empower every learner to achieve through our strategic goals centered on Grade-Level Standards, Safety, and Emerging Students.
