Register for Transitional Kindergarten - 2025/26

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is Manteca Unified's free transitional kindergarten program. TK is highly recommended and provides early education opportunities for younger children. The program is centered on early childhood development with an emphasis on literacy, math readiness, play, and social-emotional growth.

Free, full-day learning opportunities, A lower staff-to-student ratio, Curriculum aligned with instruction up to 3rd grade

 

Who is Eligible for TK?

Students are eligible for TK based on age. If your child will turn 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025, they are eligible for TK! All age-eligible children within MUSD boundary areas can attend a TK program!

Note: If your child will turn 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025 it is time for kindergarten! Visit this page to register for kindergarten.

TK sites

All schools will offer at least 1 TK class with the exception of Nile Garden. However, select schools in bold are designated TK Centers, meaning they offer up to 8 TK classes! The bolded location listed in the same row as your school of residence will be your TK Center.

*Nile Garden will not offer TK during the 2025-26 school year. If Nile Garden, Veritas, or Walter Woodward is your school of residence, you will have the option to attend the Sequoia TK Center. Once the new school on Tinnin Rd. is built, this site will serve as the TK Center in the South of 120 region. Learn about our new schools here

 How to Enroll for Transitional Kindergarten

Step 1: Find your school

First, use the School Site Locator tool to look up your child’s school of residence. The school of residence is the school assigned to a student based on their home address! 

If you would prefer to attend a TK Center, you will still register at your school of residence and let the attendance clerk know during your in-person registration appointment (Step 3) that you would like to enroll at a TK Center. 

Step 2: Complete Pre-Enrollment in the Parent Portal

Next, access our Parent Portal below to complete your pre-enrollment information and upload required documents.

Once you have submitted the required information and documents in our Parent Portal, you will receive a confirmation email that you have successfully pre-enrolled.

Step 3: In-person Registration Appointment

Your school of residence will contact you to set up an in-person registration appointment to verify required documents.  

When enrolling, let the attendance clerk at your school of residence know whether you would prefer to attend the TK Center in your region or the school of residence. They will assist you with this process.
All registered TK students will attend either the TK Center in their region or their school of residence. Students in the South of 120 region will have the opportunity to attend a TK Center in Central Manteca.
