Students sit close together on a bench that doubles as storage

Manteca Unified School District’s Board of Education has committed to investing one-time funds, designating more money and resources directly into the classroom. This decision reflects the District’s commitment to an evolving learning environment aligned to current instructional practices.

Additionally, research provides supportive data that classrooms outfitted with flexible furniture shows that students in those settings have more positive feelings about their environment and ultimately, their feelings toward school.

The flexible furniture, which will vary depending on grade level, is geared toward helping increase opportunities for student collaboration, allow for low-impact physical activity opportunities, and foster communication skills. Featuring more inclusive designs for all students, the furniture implements cutting-edge designs including whiteboard desks and ergonomic chairs.

The furniture will be delivered in three phases next year: summer break, fall break, and winter break. Different grade levels will receive their furniture during one of these three phases. This means as early as Summer 2023 some elementary classrooms will be using the cutting-edge furniture!

After the TK-8 installation is complete, furniture for grades 9-12 will follow shortly after.

Watch the video below to see how French Camp Elementary School is utilizing their updated furniture to reach new educational horizons!
