Cougars’ Romello Bruhn Earns Prestigious McDonald’s All-American Nomination
Senior basketball standout Romello Bruhn is writing his name into the record books while building momentum toward an equally successful future beyond the court.
After being named a 2026 McDonald’s All-American Nominee in early February, an honor awarded to just 346 players nationwide out of more than 538,000 boys basketball players, Bruhn added another milestone to his resume last night, surpassing 3,000 career points. With that achievement, he became only the 16th player in California high school boys’ basketball history to reach the mark.
Bruhn's senior campaign has been nothing short of dominant. He is averaging 28.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, ranking as the No. 1 scorer in the Sac-Joaquin Section and 9th overall in the state, cementing his impact not only regionally and statewide, but on the Weston Ranch boys’ basketball program.
Being nominated as a McDonald’s All-American places Bruhn among the nation's best and increases his visibility with collegiate programs across the country. While his college decision is still ahead, the recognition affirms what coaches already see: A disciplined and driven student-athlete prepared for life after high school.
That preparation extends well beyond the court as Bruhn has also demonstrated excellence in the classroom, earning a 3.5 GPA in his first semester and a 3.75 in his second semester at Weston Ranch High. His academic growth over the last six months reflects the same focus and work ethic that have defined his record-setting career.
With both his academic and athletic achievements aligned, Bruhn is positioning himself for opportunities at colleges that value competitive excellence and strong educational foundations. His journey is not measured only by the points he scores, but by the path he continues to create for himself beyond the game.
