The EUHS Lancers take the lead once again!

On Saturday, February 11th, the East Union High JROTC team successfully defended their title for the 9th time at Fresno State University's "Fresno Raider Challenge"!

The cadets trained for two months for the competition under the leadership of instructors John Tao and Oscar Moreno.

Congratulations to team captain Brandon Garibay, assistant team captains Jacob Benavidez and David Tafolla, and cadets Anthony Zavala, John Bagayas, Davis Duff, Mark Fenton, Aidan Dakins, Ann Story, Antonio Rocha, Gracie Flores, and Gael Camacho.

“Every year, this is the most prestigious Raider competition in California. Top teams from across CA compete for the title of state champion. East Union has won the competition since its inception in 2016, and we are looking forward to winning it again in 2026!” Lieutenant Colonel John Tao proudly shared.

July 2024

Congratulations to East Union High School JROTC for their incredible performance at the U.S. Army National Academic Bowl!

Team Captain Brian Aluy, Alexander Huffman, Simreet Gill, and Nihar Jain have just returned from Washington D.C. after ranking 13th in the country among 2,007 Army JROTC Programs!

The cadets have been training intensely for this competition since August 2023. After competing in two rigorous academic competitions, the team earned a spot among only 32 programs selected to compete on the national stage!

Way to go EUHS JROTC Academic Team!

 

May 2024

National Champion Alert!

13 cadets from East Union JROTC traveled to Dayton, FL to compete at the 2024 U.S. Army National Fitness Challenge Championship. The Lancers competed against 74 of the best JROTC programs in the nation and came out victorious!

Three months of intense training paid off at the beach, as the cadets pulled out an incredible 1st place victory in the obstacle course challenge, and 2nd place in a 1.7-mile beach run while battling the grueling Florida heat and humidity (98%!)

 

 

This is the fourth consecutive year that East Union has demonstrated excellence in Daytona and proudly represented MUSD on the national stage. Join us in congratulating these exceptional cadets: Team Captain Joseph Perez, Assistant Team Captain William Story, Ruben Davila, Adam Tavares, Gabriel Fincher, Leon Camacho, Andrew Perez, Gael Camacho, Brandon Garibay, Anthony Zavala, Jayden Hati-an, Antonio Rocha, and David Tafolla!

March 2024

After facing intense competition from 2,007 teams worldwide, East Union High School's JROTC Academic Team - comprised of Brian Aluy, Alexander Huffman, Nihar Jain, and Simreet Gill - has secured a spot in the National Academic Bowl Championship in Washington, DC!

Their dedication and knowledge in subjects including math, science, language arts, current events, leadership, and financial literacy have earned them a place among the top thirty-two Army JROTC Academic teams in the nation.

This remarkable achievement grants them an all-expense-paid trip to the Championship event in June, where they'll proudly represent California as one of only three qualifying teams from our state!

The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl is more than just a competition; it's a platform for our cadets to embrace the values of citizenship, engage in academic rivalry, and discover college opportunities. Join us in congratulating these exceptional students on their journey to the national stage!

Congratulations to team captain Tejinder Singh and cadets Hailey Gayler, Shawn Bradley, Seth Meacham, Gabrielle Meacham, Juan Toscano, Damanjot Singh, William Story, Jayceon King, and Zach Kitzberger!

March 2022

Congratulations to the East Union JROTC on their big win last Saturday at the Ripon High School Military Precision Drill Tournament!

The Lancers were declared the Armed Division Champion, ranked 1st place in Armed Exhibition, 1st place in Varsity Color Guard, 3rd place in Unarmed Platoon, and 3rd place in Unarmed Exhibition!

"They worked hard for over six weeks and the results showed," expressed EU JROTC instructor and retired Army Lt. Colonel, John Tao. "We would train during class, 2-3 days a week, and on Saturdays."

Sixty East Union cadets gave it their all against 11 other schools in the event on Saturday.

 

September 2021

National Academic Challenge Recognition!

After advancing through two phases of competition, the East Union High School Army JROTC Academic Team composed of Hillary Montero, Courtney Amaral, Hailey Gayler, and Danielle Stengel competed in the 2021 U.S. Army JROTC Academic Bowl Championship in Washington DC this past July.

During the tournament, East Union High School Army JROTC team competed against six top schools in the preliminary round. As one of the 16 teams advancing into the playoff, East Union Army JROTC finished the year as one of the top EIGHT teams of 1,717 Army JROTC schools in the country in 2021.

TODAY, Lieutenant Colonel Burke (Superintendent Dr. Clark Burke) and Major General (Ret) Eldon Regua honored the team for their tremendous accomplishments.
