Sierra High School named a 2026 California Distinguished School

Manteca Unified School District is proud to announce that Sierra High School has been recognized as a 2026 California Distinguished School!

The California Distinguished Schools Award celebrates schools that demonstrate strong academic achievement, student growth, positive school culture, high graduation rates, and college and career readiness.

The California Department of Education selects schools for this honor by analyzing data, rather than applications, making this recognition even more meaningful and important, as it is one of the state’s highest honors for public schools.

“This distinction honors the hard work and dedication that occurs every day at Sierra High,” said Anne Marie Shaw, Assistant Principal of Sierra High School. “Our students are held to high expectations and continue to rise to those expectations, and our staff works relentlessly to ensure equity, opportunity, and optimal outcomes for all students.”

This recognition reflects the collective dedication and passion of Sierra High’s students, staff, and families, whose commitment to growth and student success continues to drive meaningful outcomes across the campus. Together, the community continues to build an environment where students are supported and inspired every day.

This recognition aligns with Manteca Unified’s vision and mission to work together to ensure all students achieve mastery of grade-level standards through their unique educational pathway in a safe environment, inclusive of design, security, and climate.

Manteca Unified congratulates the students, staff, families, and community of Sierra High School on this outstanding achievement!

Manteca High School has also earned this recognition for the second time in three years, highlighting its continued commitment to academic excellence and student success. Article published on March 13 in the Manteca Bulletin.
