Transforming Campuses to Inspire & Support Every Learner

A note from Aaron Bowers, Director of Facilities and Operations:

Reflecting on the strides we’ve made this past year is both humbling and invigorating. The completion of several major construction projects marks significant progress in our ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality learning environments that support academic excellence and equip our students for success.

Navigating active construction on fully operational campuses required meticulous planning and adaptability. Each site presented unique challenges, ensuring the safety of students and staff, maintaining the continuity of learning, and managing real-time construction activities. Clear, consistent communication among construction crews, school administrators, and district leadership was essential to keep projects moving forward while minimizing disruptions.

As we finalize details at multiple campuses, there’s a shared sense of excitement. New classrooms, media centers, learning commons, and gymnasiums are nearly ready.
Each space has been thoughtfully designed to meet today’s instructional needs while allowing for future growth and adaptation. These modern, flexible facilities reflect the district’s continued investment in meaningful, student-centered learning environments.

Looking ahead to the new school year, it’s rewarding to know that these new spaces will soon be filled with energy, creativity, and learning. These projects represent more than completed buildings, they are the result of collaboration, focus, and a shared commitment to student success. As students and staff step into these new facilities, the true value of this work will come to life, helping to move the district forward in its mission for years to come.

The LHS athletics complex is being transformed with a new football field, all-weather track, and upgraded event spaces. Infrastructure improvements including fencing, irrigation, and drainage systems are underway, along with minor renovations to the existing snack bar and restroom facilities.

Manteca High School

MHS is modernizing with two new 2-story classroom buildings and a state-of-the-art woodshop supporting CTE pathways. Starting in July, students and staff will move into 22 brand-new classrooms. Construction will continue this summer, removing older buildings on the west side of campus and replacing them with a new building featuring 31 classrooms and a media center.

New Haven Elementary School

New Haven Elementary is undergoing a comprehensive modernization with new administration and eight-classroom buildings. New outdoor features include basketball courts, shaded play areas, and landscaped courtyards, all designed to enhance student experiences.

Brock Elliott & Joshua Cowell Elementary Schools

Brock Elliott and Joshua Cowell Elementary are both undergoing exciting upgrades to support student learning and safety. At both Elementary Schools, construction is underway on new multi-purpose buildings and upgraded playgrounds, along with two new shade structures.
Additional enhancements include replacement of asphalt play courts and parking lots, and sitewide installation of upgraded fire alarm and bell/intercom systems. These projects aim to enhance both campuses with modernized safety systems and an improved overall experience for students and staff.

On the Horizon

Planning and design are underway for these important projects, which will soon be launched to meet the evolving needs of students:

August Knodt & Stella Brockman Elementary School

August Knodt and Stella Brockman Elementary Schools are in the design phase for upcoming modernization projects aimed at enhancing campus safety and learning environments. Both schools will receive upgraded fire alarm and paging systems, site improvements including new asphalt play courts and renovated parking lots, and classroom renovations. Stella Brockman will also see targeted classroom alterations to better support early childhood programs.

New Schools Coming Soon to Manteca Unified!

Design is underway for three new elementary school campuses to serve Manteca Unified’s growing communities: Ethel Allen in Lathrop, and two new schools in southwest Manteca, at our Tinnin Road and Tara Park properties.
