Expanded Learning Opportunities Program
Learning doesn’t only happen during the school day!
Expanded Learning Opportunities Program focus’ on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences that compliment learning activities in the regular school day and school year.
Expanded Learning gives students opportunities to engage in activities that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in. Such activities include the 9hr. Day Program, intersession, summer programs and camps as well as enrichment clubs and activities of student interest facilitated by MUSD staff and community partners.
Expanded Learning Opportunities Program is supported by California’s Assembly Bill 86 passed in 2021 to assist school districts with implementing learning recovery and expanded learning opportunities. As the goal is to enroll all students who express interest in Expanded Learning programs, priority enrollment is given to students with identified needs.
