March 20, 2020 Community Update

Dear Manteca Unified School District Families,

As you know, due to assisting with the mediation for COVID-19, our schools have suspended student programming and instruction March 23, 2020 through April 3, 2020. As a result of these unprecedented times, we may be providing students with distance learning options, including educational resources and practice exercises to meet their needs. During this period, our staff will be preparing for short term and long-term transitions to a distance learning model which provides access for students to work towards achieving grade level standards.

March 23 – March 28 Students 5th through 12th Grades Should:

• Call their school office to plan to retrieve their device (in the event they left it at school)

• Check their student email to await further direction from their school Principals and Teachers regarding next steps for the possibility of remote learning beginning April 6, 2020.

March 23 – March 28 Students Kindergarten through 4th Grade Will:

• Receive information from their school Principal via pre-established channels of communication (parent/guardian email, phone call, text, app, and social media) specific to their time and date to pick up their laptops through a drive by station at the school.

• Instructions will be communicated for pick up of laptops the week of March 30 through April 3, 2020 for the possibility of remote learning beginning April 6, 2020.

March 23 – March 28 Students Transitional Kindergarten Will:

• Receive information from their school via pre-established channels of communication (parent/guardian email, phone call, text, app and social media) to await further direction from their school Principals and Teachers regarding next steps for the possibility of remote learning beginning April 6, 2020.

Comprehensive parent resources will be shared on our District website with families on Monday March 23, 2020, to support students during school suspension of programming.

We will continue to make every effort to communicate and update information in a timely fashion. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together through this difficult and uncertain time.
