MUSD, in partnership with the San Joaquin County Office of Education and the California Department of Education, highlights educational innovation, student learning, and the rewards of teaching. The purpose of the TOY Program is to honor the teaching profession. The program affords the opportunity to bring attention to teachers who successfully employ strategies to increase academic success and narrow the achievement gap among a range of students.

MUSD, in partnership with the San Joaquin County Office of Education and the California Department of Education, highlights the contributions of classified school employees, aka non-teaching professionals, who support education as part of the 2024 Employee of the Year program.

While all applications must be accompanied by a signature from the nominee’s administrator or supervisor, the nomination can also come from a current/past colleague, student, mentee, community member, or even a team of individuals!

Classified School Employee of the Year (CSEY) Award Categories:

• Paraprofessional
• Clerical and Administrative Services
• Transportation Services
• Food and Nutrition Services
• Custodial and Maintenance Services
• Security Services
• Health and Student Services
• Technical Services
• Skilled Trade

CSEY Eligibility: 

• Current Classified Employee
• Not Management or Supervisory 
• Minimum of Five (5) Years of Service in the Nomination Category  
• No Minimum Full-time Equivalent Required 

MUSD, in partnership with SJCOE and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the vital role that School counselors play in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. We recognize the outstanding contributions of school counselors throughout our district with the School Counselor of the Year (SCOY) awards program. 

While all applications must be accompanied by a signature from the nominee’s administrator or supervisor, the nomination can also come from a current/past colleague, student, mentee, community member, or even a team of individuals!

SCOY eligibility:

• The nominee must be currently employed as a full‐time counselor educator for at least three years.
• Three letters of support.
• The activities or accomplishments referenced in the application must have taken place within the last five years.
• The nominee may qualify for this award by demonstrating evidence of the implementation of the ASCA National Model and any of the following:
  • Outstanding and innovative teaching.
  • Outstanding advisement and/or mentorship.
  • Creating an innovative school counseling education program.
  • Record of scholarly activities as evidenced by submissions to state or national counseling journals or presentations at conferences.
  • Outstanding service in the community.
